Kananaskis

In the Fall of 2007 I made a road trip to the Kananaskis River in Alberta. I was accompanied by two friends Dutch and Tom. We towed my camper out which proved to be a good thing, as after much debate as to whether or not to bring it, it ended up snowing just after we arrived. Aside from the cold weather and freezing water the river is absolutely amazing. I don't think the run is much longer than 3 kilometers but my average run would take 2-3 hours.

The run barely dips into the class 3 status and is an awesome place for beginners. There is a slalom course at the bottom and about 10 really nice man made features through out the run. There were also lots of guys on surf boards in the eddies and on the waves which was a bit of a trip. We stayed for 4 days and we were beat when we left.

This was home for 4 days, and if you look close you can see our shuttle vehicle.
